KUWAIT CITY, Feb 4: The Hunting and Equestrian Club management has approved an initiative proposed by Arabian horse owners and enthusiasts to organize 25 cup rounds within the club’s races for the upcoming 2025-2026 sports season. The total prize pool for the winners will exceed 55,000 dinars.

Breeder Alaa Hamad Al-Roumi, representing the horse owners, confirmed the approval in a press statement during his attendance at the 14th meeting races at the Hunting and Equestrian Club. Speaking after he meets with the club's Secretary-General, Sheikh Sabah Al-Nasser, Al-Roumi stated: “The Hunting and Equestrian Club has approved the initiative submitted by owners and lovers of Arabian horses with Egyptian blood to organize 25 cup rounds as part of the club's races next season.”

Al-Roumi highlighted the remarkable progress the Hunting and Equestrian Club has made in recent years under the leadership of Sheikh Dhari Al-Fahad and the Board of Directors. He noted that the club's races now feature intense competition among horse owners and an increase in prize values, further motivating equestrian enthusiasts to contribute to the sport.

"In support of Kuwaiti equestrianism and Egyptian Arabian horses, a meeting was held with Sheikh Sabah Al-Nasser to discuss the proposal submitted by the owners and breeders of Egyptian Arabian horses," Al-Roumi added. "This initiative reflects our commitment to preserving and promoting this cherished sport, which is deeply rooted in Kuwait’s heritage."
