KUWAIT CITY, Jan 25: The Indian Dentists' Alliance in Kuwait (IDAK) has made Kuwait proud by clinching major victories in the Gulf Friendship Cup 2025 Throwball and Cricket tournaments held in Abu Dhabi. Competing against teams of doctors and their families from across the Gulf, IDAK emerged as champions in Women’s Throwball and secured the 2nd Runner-Up position in Men’s Cricket.

The Women's Throwball team IDAK Blazers, led by the determined Captain Dr. Anjana Nair and Coach Mr. Jomy Abraham Varghese, showcased extraordinary grit and teamwork. They defeated formidable teams from Qatar, Abu Dhabi, and the combined UAE squad to claim the maiden GFC Throwball championship title. Dr. Jane John Thomas was awarded the Best Player of the Tournament for outstanding performance.

In Men’s Cricket, IDAK, captained by Dr. Thomas Thomas, delivered a valiant performance to defend their title, which they won in 2023. In a thrilling third-place decider, they triumphed over the host team AKMG, UAE, securing the second-runner-up position. Dr. Mohammed Hussain made history by winning the Best Batsman award for the second consecutive year, cementing his place as a tournament star.

The victorious teams received a grand welcome at Kuwait International Airport, where the IDAK Council and members gathered to celebrate their achievements. President Dr. George P. Alex praised the teams for their stellar performances, calling their victories a testament to IDAK’s unity, talent, and sportsmanship.

The IDAK President also announced a grand celebratory event to honor the teams, scheduled for February 7th at the Boulevard Cricket Ground along with the IDAK KDD Cricket Tournament. He further encouraged all members to continue striving for excellence and fostering camaraderie.

With this memorable triumph, IDAK has not only brought home trophies but also strengthened the spirit of collaboration and pride within the community.
