KUWAIT CITY, Mar 9: Sources within the Ministry of Social Affairs have revealed that field inspection teams, operating under the Department of Charitable Societies and Endowments, have identified 10 individuals and several entities collecting donations without proper licenses since the beginning of Ramadan. These activities were conducted without prior approval from the ministry, violating the laws, regulations, and requirements governing charitable work in the country.
The ministry emphasized that necessary legal actions will be taken against the violators, and all cases will be referred to the Public Prosecution. This move aims to ensure strict oversight of collected funds and restrict donation activities to legally authorized entities under state supervision. The ministry highlighted that such unauthorized collections breach the law regulating charitable work, which mandates obtaining a prior license from the Ministry of Social Affairs at least one month before initiating any donation campaign. The permit must specify the duration, method, purpose, and the entity responsible for the collection.
This enforcement effort underscores the ministry's commitment to maintaining transparency and accountability in charitable activities, ensuring that all donations are managed under legal frameworks.
