 KUWAIT CITY, Sept 30: The Ministry of Interior successfully arrested eight expats on charges related to operating an unlicensed restaurant in a private residence and serving alcohol and pork. This illicit establishment was found to be serving patrons both locally manufactured and imported alcoholic along with pork items listed on the menu.

Through routine activities and the escalation of search and investigation operations, the Ministry of Interior uncovered the operation of this unlicensed restaurant. Subsequently, with the required legal authorization, a dedicated team from the Criminal Investigation and Licensing Department was assembled to apprehend all individuals responsible for this unlawful enterprise.

Upon investigation, the authorities confiscated 489 locally manufactured liquor bottles, 54 jars containing alcohol, 10 imported liquor bottles, and 218 kilograms of pork. The Food and Nutrition Public Authority took possession of these items and imposed fines for the provision of services to restaurant patrons.

The arrested individuals, along with the seized items, are currently in the process of being handed over to the relevant authorities. These authorities will undertake the necessary legal actions against them in accordance with the law.
