Professor Dr. Gökçen Çoban Çifçi

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 15: Images Diagnostic Center, the first outpatient imaging center of its kind in Kuwait, collaborated with Advanced Technology Company (ATC), the leading distributor of comprehensive health and environmental care solutions across the public and private sectors, to host the Neuro Imaging Summit at the Four Seasons Hotel in Kuwait on 13 October 2024.

The summit gathered leading local and international neuroimaging experts to discuss advancements in diagnostic imaging and their impact on neurological diseases including strokes, dementia, multiple sclerosis (MS), migraines, and epilepsy. It served as a platform for sharing knowledge on the latest neuroimaging techniques and boosting collaboration among medical professionals in Kuwait and the region. Key topics included innovations in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for early detection and management of neurological disorders, as well as the potential of imaging to improve patient outcomes.

Speakers offered key insights into various neurological disorders during the event’s panel discussions. Professor Dr. Gökçen Çoban Çifçi from Hacettepe University presented the latest developments in MRI for diagnosing multiple sclerosis and dementia, while also exploring innovative imaging techniques that offer earlier and more precise diagnosis.

Professor Dr. Arnd Doerfler, Head of Neuroradiology at the University Hospital Erlangen, discussed the role of MRI contrast agents in enhancing image quality and diagnostic accuracy, while Dr. Muhammad Yaman Adi, a Coventry, UK-based Consultant in Interventional Neuroradiology, shared his expertise on stroke imaging pathways, focusing on comprehensive workflows for acute stroke management.

Additional sessions covered migraine and epilepsy imaging, as well as thevarious MRI techniques that are reshaping diagnosis and treatment of such conditions.

Dr. Yahya Slaiman, CEO of Images Diagnostic Center, highlighted the evolving role of neuroimaging in neurological treatment: “Rapid innovations in neuroimaging technology are transforming the way we diagnose and treat complex neurological diseases. From identifying early signs of dementia to improving stroke care, these technologies are integral to better patient outcomes”.

Commenting on the event, Ghassan Mamlouk, CEO of ATC, said: “We are delighted to collaborate on this summit and bring together experts to exchange knowledge on the latest diagnostic tools in neuroimaging. This aligns with our vision of enhancing healthcare in Kuwait through the adoption of innovative technologies that improve diagnostic accuracy and patient care.”
