Kuala Lumpur, July 23: The Kuwaiti Karate Team showcased exceptional talent at the Asian Karate Championship in Malaysia, clinching an impressive total of four medals - two silver and two bronze.

On the tournament's final day, the team's outstanding performance led to a remarkable second-place finish and a well-deserved silver medal in the exhilarating (group kata) competition. Represented by Muhammad Al-Musawi, Salman Al-Musawi, and Muhammad Hussein, the team demonstrated exceptional skill and determination.

In addition, the Kuwaiti team secured a commendable third place and a coveted bronze medal in the fiercely competitive (group kumite) event. Abdullah Shaaban, Omar Al-Qinai, Youssef Hajieh, Fahd Al-Ajmi, Sultan Al-Mutairi, Ahmed Al-Misfer, and Muhammad Al-Majadi's collective efforts brought pride to their nation.

Celebrating even further, the Asian Karate Federation honored the Kuwaiti international referee, Ahmed Bastaki, with the prestigious award for the best referee in the West Asian region. This recognition reflects the caliber of talent and dedication Kuwait brings to the tournament.

Vice President of the Kuwait Karate Federation, Ahmed Al-Dhafiri, expressed his delight with the team's excellent performance in this high-level Asian championship. Under Al-Dhafiri's guidance, the Kuwaiti delegation, including administrators Khaled Al-Azmi and Abdulaziz Shaban, as well as coaches Jaber Al-Hammad and Mr. Al-Faqeesh, alongside 14 talented players, showcased the nation's potential on the international stage.

The 19th Asian Karate Championship, held in the captivating city of Malacca, Malaysia, witnessed spirited competition from nearly 400 male and female players representing 31 countries. Kuwait's impressive medal tally is a testament to their commitment and skill in the world of karate.(KUNA)
