KUWAIT CITY, Aug 12: An Indian worker, identified as Rathod Namdev, 51, from Telangana district in India, found himself in a dire situation after arriving in Kuwait under the promise of a job as a domestic worker, only to be forced into herding camels in the Kuwaiti desert.
Desperate for help, he recorded a video from his mobile phone and sent it to A. R. R., the head of his district back home in India, pleading for help. The video quickly went viral across India, catching the attention of various media outlets. This prompted the Indian Embassy in Kuwait to intervene.
The Indian embassy announced on the “X” account (formerly Twitter) that they had managed to contact R.N., who revealed that he was now in Saudi Arabia. The embassy is coordinating with their counterparts in Saudi Arabia to provide him with the necessary assistance, with ongoing efforts to secure his safe return to his home province.
