Injuries rock Qadsiya and Salmiya ahead of Cup battle

KUWAIT CITY, April 20: Qadsiya and Salmiya face a wave of injuries ahead of their highly anticipated quarterfinal showdown in the Crown Prince Cup next Thursday. Key players from both squads are at risk of missing the crucial match.

For Qadsiya, team captain Khaled Ibrahim is sidelined with a torn adductor muscle and is expected to be out for 10 to 14 days. Abdullah Mutawa joins him on the injury list with a torn ankle, requiring 10 to 14 days of recovery. Additionally, Moaz Al-Dhafiri has suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury and is estimated to be out for up to 10 days.

Salmiya's injury concerns are even more extensive. Gambian midfielder Sang Pierre has sustained a torn hamstring and will need up to 10 days of recovery. Brazilian defender Alex Lima is also out with a bruised knee ligament, expected to miss one to two weeks.

Abdulmohsen Al-Turkmani suffers from a hamstring tear and will be sidelined for a similar period. Team captain Fahad Al-Mujammed is undergoing treatment for Achilles tendonitis and is expected to be out for two to three weeks. Goalkeeper Ali Fadel is recovering from a hamstring injury, while Othman Al-Dosari will miss the remainder of the season due to a cartilage injury.

With both teams battling fitness setbacks, Thursday’s matchup promises to test the depth and resilience of both squads in their quest for a spot in the Crown Prince Cup semifinals.
