Hassan Hamdan is helped off the field by the medical team.

CAIRO, Jan 13: Kuwait suffered 1-3 defeat against the Libya in a friendly match at Cairo International Stadium, part of Kuwait’s training camp in Egypt.

In the upcoming schedule, Kuwait is set to engage in another friendly match against the Uganda on January 22.

Prior to the match, the training session witnessed an unfortunate incident as national team defender Hassan Hamdan sustained a severe sprain in his ankle joint.

Providing an update, Dr. Abdul Majeed Al-Bannai, the head of the Medical Committee of the Football Association, confirmed that X-rays ruled out any fractures in Hamdan's ankle. The clinical examination revealed a tear in the external ligament of the foot, leading to the placement of his foot in a cast. Al-Bannai noted that such injuries typically necessitate a recovery period ranging from 3 to 6 weeks.
