Intensive Security Operations Result in 448 Arrests and Seizure of 181 Vehicles

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 25: Over 8 days, the coordinated security campaigns conducted by the General Department of Rescue Police and the General Department of Traffic resulted in significant enforcement actions nationwide. A total of 448 individuals wanted on various charges were apprehended, 56,069 traffic violations were recorded, and 181 vehicles were seized. Additionally, 309 vehicles and 108 motorcycles were impounded.

The Traffic Affairs and Operations Sector at the Ministry of Interior reported that between August 17 and 22, the Traffic Department's efforts on all major and secondary roads led to the impoundment of 299 vehicles and 108 motorcycles. A total of 44,178 traffic violations were issued, and 70 cars wanted in theft cases or under judicial rulings were recovered.

During the same period, 38 individuals were arrested for various reasons, including expired residency, being wanted without proof, and absences. These individuals were handed over to the appropriate authorities for legal action. Additionally, 48 individuals were detained as a precaution, and 24 juveniles were referred to Juvenile Prosecution.

The Operations Department of the General Traffic Department also reported receiving 1,789 calls and handling 897 accidents, which included 733 collision incidents and 164 accidents involving injuries.

Regarding the "rescue" campaigns carried out between August 18 and 24, 26 instances of suspected narcotics were seized, and 410 individuals wanted for arrest, criminal convictions, absences, or without proof were apprehended. Moreover, 111 vehicles were seized and referred, along with the suspects, to the relevant authorities.

During these rescue operations, 11,891 traffic violations were recorded, and 10 vehicles were impounded. The emergency police also managed 14 brawls and provided 392 humanitarian aid.
