KUWAIT, June 16: Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Minister of State for Kuwaiti Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh stated that the security of the State of Kuwait is a red line and the eradication of the so-called residency trade from Kuwait is one of the most important priorities of the current stage.
This was stated by Al-Saleh during the council’s discussion of a letter from MP Abdel Wahab Al-Babtain regarding the assignment of the Minister of Interior to prepare a report on residence dealers who brought in large number of menial workers into the country.
Al-Saleh explained that "the names of those involved in the so-called residency trade are with the Public Prosecution," the MOI investigating authorities are obligated to write down whatever has been confessed by any accused during cross questioning and investigation period.
He stated that as per new information by the Public Prosecution is continuing investigation with the residence investigation. The Public Prosecution is the authority responsible for keeping, excluding or referring any name to the court.
He added, "We will not hide or cover up any name, whoever it is. Everyone who is accused, implicated and dealing with the so-called residency trade, will be confronted by the Ministry of Interior and the concerned authorities with all the necessary legal tools."
Al-Saleh expressed his sincere thanks, appreciation and gratitude to all the employees of the Ministry for their efforts in serving all citizens and residents and preserving the security and stability of the country in implementation of their duty that they have sworn to (KUNA)
