Interior Ministry and gov't agencies meet to tackle traffic congestion
The Interior Ministry holds a key meeting with government bodies to address traffic congestion in Kuwait.

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 28: On Monday, Brigadier Jamal Al-Foudari, Director General of the General Traffic Department, chaired a preliminary meeting at the department's headquarters to tackle the issue of traffic congestion in Kuwait. The meeting was attended by representatives from several key organizations, including the Ministry of Public Works, the Ministry of Education, Kuwait Municipality, the Public Authority for Roads and Transportation, the Civil Service Commission, and the Fatwa and Legislation Department.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Interior, the meeting aimed to coordinate efforts and advance the implementation of measures to address traffic congestion in Kuwait at various stages—short, medium, and long-term. This initiative follows a decision by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers.

During the meeting, participants discussed existing obstacles with relevant government agencies and identified appropriate solutions, including legal, financial, and technical measures, to ensure smoother road conditions across the country. It was agreed that a final report detailing the projects and measures undertaken would be submitted to the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers within six months from the issuance of the decision.
