KUWAIT CITY, Feb 20: Lieutenant General Sheikh Salem Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, chaired a security meeting on Thursday with assistant undersecretaries of field security sectors to finalize preparations for securing the 2025 National Day celebrations.
In a press statement, the ministry revealed that Lieutenant General Sheikh Salem Al-Nawaf conveyed the greetings and appreciation of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah. He also extended his best wishes for success, continued hard work, and efforts to ensure that this year’s national celebrations are carried out in a civilized and honorable manner.
During the meeting, Sheikh Salem Al-Nawaf emphasized the importance of having security leaders present in the field to oversee and follow up on the implementation of the planned measures. He stressed the full readiness of security personnel to uphold the law and address any negative behaviors, such as spraying water, climbing on vehicle roofs, hanging out of windows, sitting on the fronts of vehicles, obstructing traffic, stopping in prohibited areas, parking in spaces reserved for people with special needs, engaging in illegal races, reckless driving, and exceeding speed limits.
He also highlighted the need for security personnel to uphold high standards of conduct, demonstrating tolerance, initiative, and providing humanitarian assistance, particularly to individuals with special needs and the elderly. Sheikh Salem Al-Nawaf emphasized the importance of translating security measures into practical actions to ensure the safety and security of all.
He noted that the National Day and Liberation Day celebrations reflect the citizens’ joy and pride in the country. He urged that this celebration be carried out in accordance with the high-level civilized customs and traditions that Kuwait is known for, expressing feelings of love and patriotism.
Additionally, Sheikh Salem Al-Nawaf reviewed the precautionary security measures with the assistant undersecretaries, discussing the level of coordination and integration among the participating sectors. He underscored the importance of working together as one team to ensure the safety and security of the public.
