KUWAIT CITY, Jul 6: Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi emphasized the need for ongoing cooperation and coordination among all internal medicine departments to achieve their goals of improving health services for citizens and residents. He commended the efforts of these departments across various hospitals.

These remarks were made in a press statement issued by the ministry on Thursday following a meeting between Minister Al-Awadhi, the Internal Medicine Departments Council, Undersecretary Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, Council Head Dr. Mohammad Al-Jarallah, and heads of internal medicine departments in the country's hospitals.

According to the statement, the meeting is part of a broader initiative by the Minister of Health and Undersecretary to engage with technical department councils in various specialties, addressing numerous challenges faced by internal medicine departments. Minister Al-Awadhi underscored the importance of ensuring a balanced distribution of medical staff to deliver integrated, high-quality health services across all hospitals.

The meeting also focused on enhancing coordination between internal medicine departments and other medical units, as well as improving inter-hospital collaboration to elevate healthcare standards for patients. Discussions included future strategies for internal medicine departments aimed at boosting efficiency and effectiveness in healthcare delivery.

Key topics included refining the shift system to ensure continuous, comprehensive patient care, optimizing outpatient clinic hours to better suit patient needs, ensuring timely access to medical care, and equitably distributing doctors across hospitals.

Additionally, discussions covered the assignment of newly graduated doctors to different departments and stressed the importance of their comprehensive training and preparation to assume responsibilities and deliver exemplary health services.
