KUWAIT CITY, Aug 4: The Chairman of the Iraqi Federal Integrity Commission, Judge Haider Hanoun, and Kuwait’s Ambassador to Iraq, Tariq Al-Faraj, held discussions on strengthening cooperation in combating corruption, exchanging expertise, and transferring knowledge.

The two officials highlighted ongoing efforts to finalize a memorandum of understanding between the Commission and Kuwait’s Anti-Corruption Authority “Nazaha.” Judge Hanoun emphasized the importance of protecting foreign investors and ensuring a secure environment for them, issuing a stern warning against any attempts at extortion for economic gain at investors’ expense. He encouraged Kuwaiti investors to enter the Iraqi market, assuring them of swift action and protection against any extortion attempts they may encounter.

According to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Ambassador Al-Faraj affirmed that Kuwaiti authorities are actively assisting and cooperating with their Iraqi counterparts, particularly in extraditing suspects. He also mentioned that Kuwait is initiating the revocation of citizenship for those accused of embezzling tax deposits and who are wanted by the Iraqi Integrity Commission, alongside freezing and seizing their assets.
