Iraqi Embassy warns against ‘fake brokers’

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 23: The Iraqi Embassy has denied the existence of a mediator or a fixer to process the transactions of Iraqis residing in Kuwait. In a statement to the newspaper, the embassy addressed its citizens stating that “the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kuwait extends its best regards to the honorable community residing in the State of Kuwait and the rest of its honorable visitors. You must visit the Consular Section at the embassy and refrain from resorting to intermediaries, transaction brokers or law firms for the processing of consular transactions. The embassy has no connection with any entity claiming to provide consular facilities for the processing of transactions in Iraq. You must not deal with such entities to ensure you are not exposed to fraud and deception. We affirm our utmost respect and appreciation for your commitment to the aforementioned instructions to ensure that you avail the consular services with complete transparency and ease.”
