IT Professional fatally shot by boyfriend in Pune hotel room

PUNE, Jan 29, (Agencies): In a shocking incident, a female IT professional, identified as Vandana Dwivedi, was allegedly shot dead by her boyfriend at the Oyo Town House Hotel in the Hinjawadi area of Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune.

The accused, Rishabh Nigam, a resident of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, has subsequently been arrested by police in Mumbai.

The tragic event occurred on Saturday, with CCTV footage from the hotel capturing Rishabh leaving the room after the alleged murder. The victim and the accused, who had known each other for a decade, were in a relationship and had been staying at the hotel since January 25.

The police sources revealed that Rishabh harbored suspicions about Vandana’s character, leading to a premeditated plan to end her life.

After committing the crime, Rishabh fled to Mumbai, where he was later arrested by the police. Authorities have sealed the hotel room for further investigation into the circumstances of Vandana’s death, including the source of the firearm used in the tragic incident.
