KUWAIT CITY, March 4: The Ministry of Health has announced that Jaber Al-Ahmad Hospital has achieved a significant milestone, with the Surgery Department receiving accreditation for excellence in safety, effectiveness, and efficiency from the American Surgical Review Corporation (SRC). The certification is specifically for minimally invasive surgery, colon and rectal surgery, and urology.
Dr. Suleiman Al-Mazidi, Head of the Surgery Department at Jaber Al-Ahmad Hospital, confirmed in a press statement on Monday that this achievement highlights the continuous development of Kuwait’s healthcare system and reflects the ongoing commitment to providing advanced surgical services according to the highest international standards. He emphasized that Jaber Hospital is the first healthcare facility in Kuwait to receive this prestigious accreditation in these specialties.
Dr. Al-Mazidi further noted that the hospital provides an integrated medical environment that fosters surgical excellence, supported by the latest advanced technologies, including robotic surgeries. These innovations help improve surgical outcomes and reduce recovery times. He explained that this achievement is part of the broader ongoing progress in Kuwait’s medical sector, which continues to enhance the country’s position on the global map of medical excellence.
The department head also credited the hospital’s medical and surgical teams for their dedication, highlighting the efforts of specialized surgeons who work according to the latest international protocols. He expressed his gratitude to the Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, for their unwavering support, which has been instrumental in this accomplishment.
Dr. Al-Mazidi extended his thanks to his colleagues in the Surgery Department, the hospital administration, and all relevant sectors in the Ministry for their continuous support and collaboration. He commended the team spirit and cooperative efforts that contributed to achieving this success. He also emphasized that this achievement would not have been possible without the collective commitment to delivering top-tier medical services that meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
This latest accreditation is not the first for Jaber Hospital’s Surgery Department. Previously, the department received similar accreditations from the SRC in areas such as endocrine surgery, obesity and metabolic surgery, plastic surgery, and breast disease treatment, underscoring the hospital’s ongoing dedication to maintaining the highest levels of quality in surgical care.
Dr. Al-Mazidi stressed that this new accreditation will serve as an additional incentive for continued progress in surgery and reinforce Jaber Hospital’s position as a leading medical institution offering world-class services. The hospital remains committed to providing advanced medical care in line with the latest international standards.
The SRC Foundation, based in North Carolina, USA, is a global non-profit organization specializing in evaluating and accrediting surgical institutions. Its rigorous standards ensure patient safety and enhance the efficiency of surgical operations, helping hospitals achieve medical excellence.
