KUWAIT CITY, Feb 5: In a notable achievement, Dr. Manal Issa Jaber, the head of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at Jaber Hospital, announced the successful completion of 75 surgical operations within the first six months of the establishment of the Women’s Pelvic and Urinary Tract Reconstruction Unit.
Specializing in addressing gynecological issues such as sagging pelvic muscles, uterine prolapse, vaginal prolapse, urinary bladder problems, urinary incontinence, and fistula, the Pelvic and Gynecological Tract Reconstruction Unit utilizes cutting-edge treatment methods adhering to international medical standards. Laparoscopy, and predominantly the advanced surgical robot (Da Vinci), are employed for these surgical procedures.
Dr. Jaber highlighted the department's commitment to meeting patient needs through the establishment of specialized and advanced units. The Gynecologic Oncology Unit was previously initiated, followed by the establishment of the Women’s Pelvic and Urinary Tract Reconstruction Unit in early 2023. Dr. Nada Al-Ibrahim, certified by the Canadian Board in pelvic and female urinary tract reconstructive surgeries and robotic surgeries, heads the unit. Her expertise encompasses complex operations, notably fistula resection and pelvic organ repair, demanding advanced experience and precision.
