KUWAIT CITY, Dec 29: The Public Prosecution has intensified investigations into two high-profile murder cases that shocked the nation. A citizen accused of shooting a fellow Kuwaiti in Jabriya and a Filipina domestic worker alleged to have killed her sponsor’s infant by placing him in a washing machine remain in custody. Both individuals are expected to face charges of premeditated murder following reenactments of the crimes. A security source revealed that the suspect in the Jabriya shooting admitted during questioning that disputes with the victim motivated the fatal act. The shooting, which occurred on Friday afternoon, involved three bullets fired from a pistol, two of which proved fatal. The perpetrator later surrendered to authorities.
Meanwhile, the Filipina domestic worker is accused of killing her sponsor’s infant son, born in 2023, on Thursday evening in Sabah Al-Salem. During interrogation, the accused claimed mistreatment by her employers drove her to commit the act as an act of revenge. According to initial reports, the infant was rushed to Al-Adan Hospital by his family but was pronounced dead. The child’s parents alleged they heard screams from the washing machine and found the worker attempting to flee after committing the heinous crime. The Public Prosecution is expected to press charges of premeditated murder against both suspects, pending the results of ongoing investigations and crime reenactments. Authorities are working diligently to uncover the full details surrounding both incidents, which have left the community in shock. The tragic events underscore the need for robust measures to address disputes and improve the treatment of domestic workers to prevent such horrifying outcomes.
