Jahra Governor calls to install surveillance cameras in parks

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 9: Jahra Governor Hamad Jassim Al-Habashi has urged the installation of surveillance cameras, increased security presence, and the establishment of a dedicated office for environmental police in public parks across the governorate. He emphasized the importance of tackling the issue of waste disposal in these parks and called for measures to deter such improper behavior.

Al-Habashi made these remarks during a meeting with the Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Agriculture and Fish Resources, Eng. Nasser Taqi, along with the Director of the Al Wafra and Abdali Agricultural Areas, Mohsen Al Mutairi, and the Director General’s Office Director, Eng. Thamer Al Qufaidi. He commended their swift response to local issues and their efforts to address them promptly.

Several key topics were discussed during the meeting. Al-Habashi highlighted the need for new branches of the Abdali Agricultural Society in the Abdali area, citing the high concentration of farms in the region. He also called for the establishment of a year-round vegetable market and the creation of seasonal parks for visitors, similar to those in the Al-Wafra agricultural area. Additionally, he suggested allowing farmers to allocate 5 percent of their land for selling products directly from their farms.

The governor also stressed the importance of addressing the odors from treated water, warning that they could pose a future health risk if not properly managed.
