KUWAIT CITY, Sept 9: The Kuwait Winter Games Club has announced that Sama Jaragh, a member of the Kuwaiti girls' figure skating team, will compete in the Junior Girls' Figure Skating Grand Prix in Bangkok, Thailand. The tournament, organized by the International Skating Union (ISU), will begin next Wednesday and run for three days, featuring competitors from around the globe.

Salem Al-Ajmi, the manager of the Kuwait figure skating team, emphasized the significance of this event for Jaragh, describing it as one of the premier competitions for her age group. Al-Ajmi noted that Jaragh has been intensively preparing for the tournament under the guidance of coach Yulia Martysheva, praising her dedication and effort to excel.

He explained that participating in such major international tournaments at a young age is crucial for Kuwaiti athletes, as it enhances their technical skills and helps them accumulate important points toward qualifying for the upcoming Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina 2026. Al-Ajmi also commended the club's board of directors, led by Fahid Al-Ajmi, for their significant support, which has contributed to the club's success in regional, continental, and international competitions. He highlighted the club's commitment to nurturing talent across all age groups in figure skating and other winter sports.
