LOS ANGELES, Nov 19, (Agencies): Jason Momoa, renowned for his striking looks and roles in Hollywood, revealed a surprising childhood aspiration during his recent stint as host on Saturday Night Live. The Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom star, in his second appearance on the iconic SNL stage, offered a glimpse into his early dreams.
Despite his current fame as Aquaman, Momoa humorously shared, "Growing up, all I wanted to be was a marine biologist, which makes sense because I'm built like a scientist." He recounted the challenge of pursuing this passion while growing up in Iowa, far from the oceanic landscapes.
Momoa's revelation took an unexpected turn when he saw the movie "In the Hands," shot in Hawaii, featuring his cousin riding massive 50-foot waves. This inspired him to return to Hawaii and indulge in surfing with his family. Serendipitously, this move caught the eye of casting directors, leading him to a role on the iconic TV show, Baywatch, which he fondly referred to as the 'B-Word.'
Expressing how his life has come full circle, Momoa now actively engages in ocean conservation efforts. His SNL monologue, marked by its sweet and wholesome tone, resonated with fans, who appreciated the actor's natural charm and charisma.
Momoa's SNL appearance followed his Dune co-star Timothée Chalamet's hosting the previous week. Chalamet, celebrating the end of the actors' strike, humorously introduced a "Pure Imagination" parody, signaling a return to the "magical world" of entertainment.
