Elijah Blue Allman and Cher.

LOS ANGELES, Feb 3, (Agencies): Elijah Blue Allman's bid to withdraw his divorce petition from his wife, Marieangela King, has been officially approved. The 47-year-old, who is the son of Cher and the late Gregg Allman, initially sought the dismissal in Los Angeles County on Jan 5. However, a judge initially rejected the request due to a temporary support stipulation. The recent approval of the dismissal request came on Wednesday, as indicated by legal documents.

Allman had initially filed for divorce from King, 36, in 2021 after their marriage in December 2013. Despite the legal proceedings, the couple has reconciled. This development occurred amid legal tensions involving Allman's mother, Cher. On Monday, Cher's request for an emergency conservatorship over Allman, citing alleged mental health and substance abuse issues, was denied by a judge.

In a previous objection to Cher's request, Allman stated that he and King were in the process of reconciling and living together. He also mentioned that Cher opposed their reconciliation and, consequently, declined to provide financial support for his family law counsel.

King, in her own filing, expressed that she and Allman live together as a married couple. She described Allman as a talented artist and a kind and thoughtful man, acknowledging his struggles with addiction. The judge, during Monday's hearing, rejected Cher's proposed injunction, citing Allman's financial management, stable housing situation, and drug-free status.

Allman, accompanied by his legal team and King, attended the court session, while Cher participated remotely, with her lawyers present in person. Another hearing is scheduled for March 6. Court documents from September of the previous year revealed allegations by King, accusing Cher of hiring individuals to kidnap Allman in late 2022.
