LOS ANGELES, Aug 14: Katy Perry is facing scrutiny in Spain following the unauthorized filming of her new music video, "Lifetimes," on the Balearic Islands. The investigation was prompted by reports that the production company did not obtain the necessary permits to shoot at the protected dunes of Ses Salines Natural Park.
The regional government's environmental department has launched the probe into the music video, which features scenes of Perry on various beaches, at clubs, and dancing through cities. However, the shoot in the sensitive dune system of s’Espalmador, known for its fragile ecosystem and significant ecological value, has raised particular concern.
This development comes on the heels of Perry’s recent single, “Woman’s World,” which faced criticism. Perry has since claimed the single was intended as satire. Her upcoming album, 143, created in collaboration with the controversial producer Dr. Luke, is set for release on September 20th.
