The Kazakh military personnel, armed with machineguns, are patrolling the streets of Almaty and conducting largescale-combing operations in pursuit of what they call "bandits and terrorists." The deadly clashes between protesters and the security forces broke out early last week against the backdrop of the government decision to raise the fuel prices. Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sought help from the Russian-led Collective Security Treaty Organization to quell the protests and restore order. (KUNA) --
