Kazma new soccer department head Omar Al-Mulla.

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 26: Kazma's board of directors has appointed Omar Al-Mulla, the club’s treasurer, to lead the soccer department through the remainder of the season. The announcement of the new team's coach is expected in the coming days.

In a recent meeting, Kazma's management also accepted the resignation of the first football team's technical and administrative staff. Following the team’s defeat to Al-Nasr (0-1) in the third round of the Zain Premier League, the coach Mohammed Dahilis, his assistant coaches, Dr. Fayez Al-Nassar, head of the soccer department, and the administrative staff all resigned.

Kazma's struggles have been ongoing since last season. The team began with Brazilian coach Sergio Farias, who was replaced by Portuguese Francisco Chalo in September 2023. Chalo also failed to meet the board’s expectations, leading to his dismissal and Dahilis taking over in December under a contract set to end this season. Kazma has continued to face challenges this season, collecting only three points from nine possible in the first three rounds of the league. They lost to Al-Arabi and Al-Nasr with scores of 0-2 and 0-0 respectively and secured a single win against Al-Salmiya (4-3).

The Board of Directors expressed their sincere gratitude to Captain Mohammed Dahilis for his dedication during his tenure and wished him the best in his future endeavors. They also acknowledged and thanked Dr. Fayez Al-Nassar and the administrative staff for their contributions, extending their best wishes for success in the future.
