Kazma stages impressive comeback against Burgan

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 7: Kazma defeated Burgan 3-1 in the seventh round of the Federation Volleyball Championship, which also saw Al-Arabi secure a 3-0 win over Yarmouk.

The round began last with a highly anticipated clash between Kuwait Clubb and Qadsia, where the "Whites" team triumphed 3-1. Al-Shabab also claimed a 3-1 victory against Al-Nasr.

Kuwait Club currently leads the standings with 18 points from six consecutive wins, followed by Al-Qadsia in second place with 15 points. Kazma sits in third place with 15 points but trails on point difference, while Burgan holds fourth place with 14 points. Al-Shabab is in fifth with 10 points, and Al-Arabi ranks sixth with 9 points. Yarmouk occupies seventh place with 3 points, and both Al-Sulaibikhat and Al-Nasr remain scoreless at the bottom of the table.

Despite Burgan's strong start, winning the first set 25-18, Kazma rebounded with dominant performances in the subsequent sets, claiming victory 25-21, 25-14, and 25-20. This crucial win secured Kazma's third-place position. In another match, Al-Arabi easily controlled the game, winning all three sets decisively with scores of 25-16, 25-17, and 25-20.

The championship follows a single-round league format, with the top four teams advancing to the semi-finals. In the next stage, the first-place team will face the fourth, while the second and third teams will compete for a spot in the final.
