KUWAIT CITY, March 13: The Kuwait College of Science and Technology (KCST) team has clinched the coveted Homeland of Innovation Award, the top honor in the Kuwait National Robotics Competition, reports Al-Jarida daily. Organized by Kuwait University, the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity, and Zain Company, the competition aims to foster creativity and innovation in robot design and manufacturing, aligning with the nation’s vision for innovation. The Homeland of Innovation Award recognizes exceptional capabilities in innovation and excellence within the robotics industry and design.

The KCST team’s victory was attributed to their collaborative teamwork and exceptional skills, which showcased innovative manufacturing and design techniques. Their robot models impressed the jury with their high performance and intricate design, demonstrating a keen understanding of technology and intelligent strategies to secure top scores.

Led by Dr. Muhammad Faisal Naji and guided by engineer Hajar Al-Sulaili, the team comprised seven talented students: Abdullah Shamout, Salem Abdulnabi, Ahmed Maher Khairallah, Rushdi Adebeki, Omar Deeb, Othman Al-Dhafiri, and Jaafar Mahdi. Professor Khaled Al-Baqa’in, President of KCST, expressed pride in the students’ achievement, emphasizing its significance as a symbol of excellence and creativity in robotics and design. He commended the faculty members, particularly Dr. Muhammad Naji and the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, for their support in equipping students with modern skills essential for the job market and national service. Al-Baqa’in concluded by encouraging all innovators to strive for excellence and contribute to building a future driven by technology and creativity.
