KUWAIT CITY, Jan 30: Kuwait’s traffic authorities have reinforced the importance of wearing seatbelts by implementing strict fines and potential legal consequences for violators. Failure to wear a seatbelt carries an initial fine of KD 30. However, if the violation is referred to court, the penalty escalates to imprisonment for up to one month, a fine ranging from KD 50 to KD 100, or both.
Wearing a seatbelt is a crucial safety measure, significantly reducing the risk of death and serious injury by up to 50% in the event of an accident. Authorities continue to emphasize the importance of adherence to traffic regulations to enhance road safety and minimize fatalities. Motorists are urged to comply with seatbelt laws to avoid severe penalties and, most importantly, protect their lives and those of their passengers.
