KUWAIT CITY, May 26: The acting Chief of the General Fire Force, Major General Khaled Fahd, convened a meeting on Sunday with key authorities to devise innovative solutions to address the safety challenges at the tire dumping site in Al-Salmi.

According to a statement issued by the Fire Department, the coordination meeting included representatives from Kuwait Municipality, the Public Authority for the Environment, and the Public Authority for Industry. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss and follow up on measures implemented at the Al-Salmi tire dump.

Major General Fahd identified several significant obstacles facing the Fire Force, including the lack of fire prevention measures, the haphazard accumulation of tires that hampers firefighters' access to fire sites, the absence of a protective fence around the location, and inadequate water supply sources.

Fahd emphasized the critical need to equip the site with fire nozzles, a water tank, and a fire pump. Additionally, he stressed the importance of providing bulldozers, guards, and surveillance cameras and constructing a dedicated road to the tire collection site.

He called for enhanced coordination between the competent authorities and the Fire Force to protect the lives of citizens and residents, ensuring community safety and security.
