KUWAIT CITY, Sept 17:: In support of Diraya Campaign, Kuwait Finance House (KFH) remains committed to disseminating financial literacy awareness. These efforts align with the objectives of the campaign launched in 2021 by the Central Bank of Kuwait in cooperation with the Kuwait Banking Association. In this context, KFH has organized an experience with PR Academy students to enhance their banking awareness, providing tips related to cyber threats and protecting their banking accounts.

The awareness initiative focused on testing students' banking information with the aim of enhancing their financial literacy and highlighting the various methods of fraud that customers might encounter. These include text messages, emails, phone calls, or social media channels.

Students were informed that KFH would never request personal information from its customers via email, text messages, or phone calls. KFH also emphasized the importance of avoiding responses to such messages, as they are fraudulent attempts aimed at stealing their banking information including their money and data. KFH also educated students to the ways of updating their personal data and the importance of not falling victims of fraudulent activities.

The initiative also addressed the importance of not sharing an OTP code with any party and being cautious when interacting with online links, as simply clicking on a link could expose their banking information to theft. KFH also provided helpful tips that can protect bank accounts such as refraining from saving any confidential information on the mobile phone including numbers of debit or credit cards, and PINs. KFH also advises not to share such information with third parties, and to log out of KFH application or website immediately after completing a transaction. The Bank noted that some fraudsters take advantage of advanced AI technology to track the customer’s transactions patterns, targeting their money and hacking into their personal data.

PR Academy by KFH

It is worth noting that the PR Academy, recently launched by KFH in its first edition, equips undergraduate students and recent graduates with the latest trends and role of public relations and media, helping them develop technical and practical skills in this vital field in line with the Bank’s social responsibility.

The 4-week program included lectures, seminars and workshops, in addition to field visits to KFH's strategic partners and several official entities that have an active role in the field.
