KIB concludes its participation in the third edition of Kuwait’s biggest employment fair, Watheefti

KUWAIT CITY, October 21: Kuwait International Bank (KIB) recently took part in the third edition of Watheefti employment fair, the biggest of its kind in Kuwait and the most attractive to national young professionals. The Bank’s participation in the three-day event comes in affirmation of its societal role in supporting young, national talents – helping them hone their skills to meet the market’s demands, especially within the private banking sector. The fair also presented an excellent opportunity to spread banking awareness, in support of the ‘Let’s Be Aware’ (Diraya) campaign, which was launched by the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) and the Kuwait Banking Association (KBA) in cooperation with local banks.

Commenting on KIB’s participation in the fair, Feras Al Darmi, General Manager of Human Resources at KIB, stated: “We were extremely happy to participate in the third edition of the Watheefti job fair. It is among KIB’s top priorities to support and develop Kuwait’s national youth cadres, a goal that the Bank is continuously taking active strides towards by offering the youth suitable job opportunities, which underscore their integral role in Kuwait’s sustainable growth. In addition to the job opportunities, our team is constantly developing comprehensive training programs for up-and-coming professionals, reinforcing their capabilities and boosting their professional performance. After all, the youth are undoubtedly any institution’s cornerstone for success and development, especially in the long run.”

Al Darmi highlighted that KIB’s presence at Watheefti gave visitors a chance to hand in their resumes, and to get a brief from a dedicated KIB team about the multi-faceted career path and the rich financial and economic experience that the Kuwaiti banking sector offers. The Bank’s representatives also elaborated on the nature of KIB’s work environment and its requirements, in addition to the different functions and the skills needed for each job position.

Al Darmi added: “Participating in Watheefti provided us with a valuable opportunity to not only connect with aspiring professionals but also to support the ‘Let’s Be Aware’ campaign’s mission of enhancing financial awareness in Kuwait. During the event, KIB played a key role in educating attendees, particularly young professionals and university graduates, on critical financial topics, including personal finance management, secure banking practices, savings, and fraud prevention. Our presence at the event reflects our commitment to fostering both career development and financial literacy.”

Organized from October 17th to the 19th at The Arena – 360 Mall, the Watheefti career fair gathered participants and recruiters from various industries of the Kuwaiti private sector with over 100 companies participating in the event. To further support the fair, conferences, workshops and other activities were held at the adjacent Grand Hyatt over three days.

Al Darmi praised the employment fair for its continuous success, stressing KIB’s commitment to continuously participate in such events, which aim to give a boost to future generations in their journey of joining the job market. He highlighted that the Bank spares no effort in supporting and sponsoring young Kuwaiti talents, inviting all candidates interested in working at KIB to send their resumes to [email protected].
