LOS ANGELES, Oct 18, (Agencies): Kourtney Kardashian is approaching her due date and has been contemplating the striking differences in her fourth pregnancy compared to her previous three.
The reality star is no stranger to pregnancy, having previously given birth to her children Mason (13), Penelope (11), and Reign (8), whom she shares with her former partner, Scott Disick. However, her current pregnancy, with her unborn son by husband Travis Barker, comes almost a decade after her last pregnancy. Notably, Kourtney, at 44 years old, finds herself in the category of a "geriatric pregnancy," a term that has brought about unexpected medical attention and changes that she had not anticipated.
In a recent interview, Kourtney candidly expressed her thoughts on this unique pregnancy, saying, "[Geriatric] is just so wild. But my doctors are so cautious, and I've had so many more restrictions than my other pregnancies." During the initial trimester, she had to refrain from working out and avoid air travel. The second trimester brought some relief, but as she nears the final stretch, she has encountered a resurgence of restrictions.
This reintroduction of limitations is in part due to a medical scare that led to Kourtney being hospitalized for fetal surgery last month.
Back in early September, Kourtney took to Instagram to share her experience with her followers. She expressed her gratitude to her doctors for their life-saving efforts, praised her husband, Travis, for his unwavering support during her hospital stay, and thanked her mother for being by her side. She shared a touching image of Travis holding her hand while she was in the hospital.
Kourtney revealed that this pregnancy has been a completely new experience for her, stating, "As someone who has had three really easy pregnancies in the past, I wasn't prepared for this. That experience opened my eyes to a whole new world of pregnancy that I didn't know about in the past. It was terrifying. Afterward, I learned that insurance typically only covers two ultrasounds during pregnancy, a fact I had no knowledge of. I've always been fortunate enough to have more ultrasounds than insurance covers, and it was one of those ultrasounds that saved my baby's life."
