KPMG Kuwait promotes two Directors to Partners; aims to strengthen its Audit and Tax practice in Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 16: In a strategic move to strengthen its leadership, KPMG Kuwait announced the promotion of two of its Directors to Partners. This decision saw Salman Bin Khalid and Muhammad Hanan Tariq advance in position, taking the firm’s leadership tally to 11. Through these promotions, KPMG Kuwait will look to draw on Salman and Hanan’s ~40 combined years of experience to expand on its Audit and Tax capabilities.

Speaking about the promotions, Dr. Rasheed Al-Qenae, Managing Partner, KPMG Kuwait, said, “I am excited to announce the promotions of my colleagues, Salman Bin Khalid and Muhammad Hanan Tariq, to the role of Partner. In the time they have been with us, Salman and Hanan have been instrumental in driving the growth of their respective functions, i.e., Audit and Tax, and have also made significant contributions to the firm’s collective success. Salman Bin Khalid gets promoted to Partner — Audit

Salman has 18+ years of experience with Big 4 firms in Audit, Assurance and Accounting Advisory, five of which he has spent in KPMG Kuwait’s Audit function. In his tenure at KPMG Kuwait, he has provided Audit and Assurance services to leading financial service organizations and driven crucial initiatives such as the firm’s Audit Internship Program as well as its System of Quality Management (SoQM) process. He has played a pivotal part in KPMG Kuwait’s Audit and Assurance services to key financial services organizations across oil and gas, telecommunications, e-commerce, automotive, infrastructure, family business and private enterprises, among other industries.

Muhammad Hanan Tariq gets promoted to Partner — Tax & Corporate Services

Hanan has over 18 years of Accounting, Tax Compliance and Advisory experience in the Middle East, which comprises advising clients on tax compliance matters and major tax structuring of joint ventures for mega projects in the region. Hanan has been involved in advising companies with respect to inbound investment in Kuwait. He has assisted major multinational companies in structuring their operations in Kuwait in a tax-efficient manner and provided detailed advice in respect of the application of various tax treaties with Kuwait. At KPMG Kuwait, Hanan is the cornerstone of the China Business Desk. This desk has helped create a corridor for Chinese businesses, helping Chinese investors recognize prospects in Kuwait. His professional experience spans across oil and gas, energy, construction, retail and banking, among others.
