KUWAIT CITY, Nov 8, (KUNA): Chairman of the Kuwait Shooting Sport Club (KSSC) Duaij Al- Otaibi announced that the club is preparing for the launch of the new local season 2020/2021, which will be inaugurated by the hosting of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al- Jaber Al-Sabah Annual Shooting Tournament scheduled to be held on Nov 26-28.

In a press statement issued on Sunday, Al-Otaibi, who heads the organizing committee of the championship, said the championship will be held at the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Shooting Range Complex, and that it will witness a wide participation of Kuwaiti archers and shooters from the club, the National Guard, the Military Sports Federation and the Police Sports Club.

He indicated that the tournament will include competitions in different shooting categories – skeet, trap, ten-meter air pistol, ten-meter air rifle, 25-meter air rifle and 50-meter air rifle as well as Olympic archery competition.

Al-Otaibi affirmed that, “His Highness the Crown Prince’s interest in the sport of archery is a strong motivation for us to develop this sport at the local and international levels. This precious tournament has a special place among the Kuwaiti shooting family, as all shooters and female archers are keen to win their competitions”.

He stated that the organizing committee decided to hold the tournament without an audience, but will arrange for the necessary sanitization and protection tools in implementation of the health and precautionary measures approved by the health authorities in the country due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
