KUWAIT CITY, May 20: It was a joyous 2 days of international competition for Kuwait badminton players where 20 out of 31 players who took part in the event returned home victorious, grabbing 4 titles, 4 runners-up and 10 semifinal trophies.The Under 17 Boys and Under 9 Girls singles titles were won Darshan Kumar and Neha Biju respectively.The other winners are the following: Under 9 boys doubles, runner-up Addison Sumesh and Arden Sumesh; Under 11 boys doubles, winner Dhruva Ramesh and Shreehari Gangadharan; Under 13 boys singles, semifinalist Adarsh Kamath;Under 13 boys doubles, winner Dhruva Ramesh and Adarsh Kamath; Under 15 boys singles, runner-up Sarvesh Rajkaumar and semifinalist Samuel Sunil; Under 15 boys doubles, semifinalists Aidan Aneesh and Ajay Abhilash and Adarsh Kamath and VarunShriram; Under 17 boys singles, winner Darshan Kumar and semifinalist Samuel Sunil and Under 17 boys doubles, runner-up Darshan Kumar &Varun Shriram and semifinalist Sayooj Ajay Kumar &SarveshRajkumarIn the girls category, Under 9 girls singles, winner is Neha Susan Biju and semifinalist Abhigail Susan Abhilash; Under 9 girls doubles, semifinalist Neha Susan Biju and Abhigail Susan Abhilash; Under 13 girls singles, semifinalist Mehvish Contractor; Under 13 girls doubles runner-up Mehvish Contractor and Mrudhuksha Das; Under 15 girls doubles semifinalist Niyati Pradeep and Jelsey Alex; Under 17 girls doubles semifinalist Niyati Pradeep and Valli GangadharanThe IBAK Coaching Committee comprises Dr Manimara Chozhan, Chandrahas KT, Ajaykumar Vasudevan, Ramesh Chandra, Prasad Thandasserry, Mohammad Sirajuddin, Sreenivasa Sreedhara and Yashin BoseIndian Badminton Association Kuwait (IBAK) a pioneer in badminton in Kuwait in association with Kuwait Badminton Federation (KBF) has been working towards achieving their vision to promote badminton in Kuwait. After successfully completing 12 coaching modules IBAK begins a full time coaching program.The impact of the recently implemented coaching program is evident from the fact that Kuwait players were able win 23 trophies this year compared to 13 last year.IBAK thanks former Indian coach Nazer who led the 10-day coaching camp ahead of this tournament. His contributions assisted the players to develop advanced techniques and mental toughness needed to win international tournaments.IBAK continues the advanced and beginners coaching at IBAK Gym Salwa.
