TURIN, Italy, March 16, (KUNA): Kuwait’s Special Olympics delegation wrapped up its participation in the World Winter Games (Turin 2025) with a total of four medals, after securing one silver and one bronze.
Abdullah Al-Ali clinched silver, while Hajar Al-Rashidi secured bronze in the 100-meter ice skating final, adding to Kuwait’s overall haul of one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals.
Rehab Bouresli, National Director of Special Olympics Kuwait, expressed her pride in the athletes’ remarkable achievements during their first-ever participation in the event. She dedicated the success to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince, and the Kuwaiti people.
Bouresli praised the athletes for their dedication and resilience, highlighting their commendable representation of Kuwaiti sports for individuals with intellectual disabilities. She acknowledged the challenges faced by the delegation but emphasized that their perseverance earned widespread recognition.
She also extended her gratitude to the participating delegation, the athletes’ families, and the Kuwaiti diplomatic mission for their unwavering support in ensuring the team’s success. Bouresli reaffirmed Special Olympics Kuwait’s commitment to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities, fostering their skills, and showcasing their talents on global platforms.
