KUWAIT CITY, April 28: Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan reaffirmed the ongoing commitment to improving Kuwait's infrastructure through extensive road maintenance projects, including work in the Abu Futaira area. These efforts are part of a broader initiative encompassing 18 major contracts aimed at enhancing highways and internal roads across all governorates in the country.

In a press statement issued on Monday, Al-Mashaan emphasized the ministry's dedication to adhering to the highest international quality standards during project implementation. She highlighted the crucial role that road development plays in strengthening the economy, enhancing quality of life, and supporting Kuwait's "New Kuwait 2035" vision for sustainable development. "Infrastructure is the foundation of any country's progress, and this motivates us to work with a comprehensive vision to develop Kuwait both economically and urbanly," Al-Mashaan stated.

Engineer Noura Al-Mutairi, Contract Supervisor for the 18th contract in the Second Zone, Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate, also provided an update on the work. She confirmed that ministry teams are currently active in the Abu Futaira area, particularly in Block 8. "Following the completion of fieldwork and treatment, a layer of Type 3 material will be applied," Al-Mutairi explained.

She further noted that treatment works are ongoing in Block 6 of Abu Futaira in preparation for asphalt paving, with the project set to proceed to Block 7 for continued maintenance.

These maintenance efforts are part of Kuwait's broader push to modernize its infrastructure and ensure the country’s roads meet global standards for safety and efficiency.
