KUWAIT CITY, Oct 22: Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Education, Dr. Nader Al-Jalal, affirmed Kuwait's commitment to achieving excellence, improving education quality, and supporting all initiatives aimed at accomplishing these goals.

The Ministry of Higher Education made this announcement in a press statement following a speech by Minister Al-Jalal. His remarks came after participating in the Board of Directors meeting of the UNESCO Regional Center for Quality and Excellence in Education, held remotely via communication technology. The meeting was chaired by Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Education and Chairman of the Center’s Board of Directors, Yousef Al-Bunyan.

Minister Al-Jalal emphasized Kuwait's dedication to collaborating with regional and international partners to enhance education quality and implement high standards across various educational stages. He commended Saudi Arabia’s leadership in advancing education quality and achieving outstanding outcomes in the Arab region. He also extended his gratitude to Minister Yousef Al-Bunyan and the Center's Director General, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Mudaris, for the invitation to participate in this meeting.

The meeting covered several topics related to the center’s work and reviewed its progress over the past ten years since its establishment. Discussions included the outcomes of the regional workshop on student achievement assessment in Arab countries. Additionally, proposed projects and programs were examined, including the Center's research chairs project, the educational leadership training program for Arab countries, the Arab Model for Quality and Excellence in Education project, and the Future of Quality Spending on Pre-University Education in Arab countries initiative.

The meeting was attended by numerous education ministers from Arab countries and leaders from local and regional educational organizations.

It is worth noting that the initiative to establish and host the UNESCO Regional Center for Quality and Excellence in Education is a remarkable example of Saudi Arabia’s qualitative contributions to the Arab region. The center serves as a vital platform for exchanging ideas and experiences in the field of education.
