KUWAIT CITY, Dec 22: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received at Bayan Palace on Sunday His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al- Sabah, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with his accompanying delegation, currently paying an official visit to the country. The Kuwaiti and Indian sides discussed bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, peoples, means of boosting these ties in various spheres, expanding cooperation, key issues of common concern, latest developments on the regional and international arenas. Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah and senior State officials attended the audience. Meanwhile, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Sunday decorated the visiting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the prestigious Mubarak Al-Kabeer Order, in appreciation for his role in bolstering further the good ties between the Republic of India and the State of Kuwait.

The honoring ceremony was held at Bayan Palace this morning. His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal exchanged pleasantries with the Indian Prime Minister during the honoring ceremony, stating, “This is our highest medal and you have earned it. We have maintained bonds with the Republic of India for hundreds of years.” The Indian premier replied, “Your Highness this is an honor for 1.4 billion Indians and I dedicate this great medal to the old friendship between the two countries. “This is assuring as we will usher in a new phase and I will be committed to elevating the level of our relations.” Also on Sunday, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al- Jaber Al-Sabah was received at Bayan Palace on Sunday His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al- Sabah also received at Bayan Palace on Sunday His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al- Ahmad Al-Sabah and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his accompanying delegation, currently on an official visit to the country.
