KUWAIT CITY, April 22: Kuwait’s Minister of Education, Dr. Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabaei, met on Tuesday with the Director General of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS), Dr. Mohammad bin Saud Al-Muqbel, to discuss ways to advance education across member states and support collaborative educational initiatives aligned with shared regional goals.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Education, the meeting highlighted the key role of ABEGS in shaping educational policies, promoting the exchange of successful practices among member states, and strengthening the efficiency of educational systems in the region. Both sides emphasized the importance of unified educational efforts and continued coordination to meet the aspirations of Gulf leadership and citizens in the educational field.
The meeting was attended by several senior officials from Kuwait’s Ministry of Education, including Acting Undersecretary Mansour Al-Dhafiri, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Development and Activities Maryam Al-Enezi, and Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Facilities and Planning, Eng. Mohammad Al-Khalidi.
The Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States is a regional organization established in 1975 by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) leaders. It includes six GCC member states, with Yemen joining the organization in 2002.
