NEW DELHI, India, Feb 13: Kuwaiti Ambassador to India, Mishal Mustafa Al-Shamali, met with Raj Kumar Srivastava, the Dean of the Indian Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service, in New Delhi on Thursday to discuss strengthening the cooperation between the Kuwaiti Sheikh Saud Al-Nasser Al-Sabah Diplomatic Institute and the Indian Sushma Swaraj Diplomatic Institute.

In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) following the meeting, Ambassador Al-Shamali explained that the discussions centered on enhancing collaboration between the two diplomatic institutions. The goal is to exchange best practices in training and education for diplomats, as well as to promote the participation of both institutes in the activities and programs they organize.

Al-Shamali also highlighted the participation of a Kuwaiti diplomatic delegation in a training course at the Indian Sushma Swaraj Diplomatic Institute, which is scheduled for later this month. He added that arrangements for the course were also discussed during the meeting.

The cooperation between the two institutes began with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2023. The MoU aimed to foster diplomatic knowledge exchange and support the organization of specialized programs, courses, and academic activities. During Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Kuwait in December 2024, both countries agreed to establish a special training course for Kuwaiti diplomats at the Sushma Swaraj Diplomatic Institute in New Delhi.

Ambassador Al-Shamali expressed confidence that these continued efforts would further enhance the relationship between the two nations, particularly in the field of diplomacy.
