KUWAIT CITY, July 25: Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Jarrah Al-Jaber presided over the Borders Committee meeting yesterday at the ministry's headquarters. The committee discussed various agenda topics and reviewed developments within its purview.

In a separate engagement, Sheikh Jarrah Al-Jaber received Asim Mahajan, Assistant Secretary for Gulf Affairs at India's Ministry of External Affairs. Mahajan's official visit was to lead the Indian delegation for the sixth round of political consultations between Kuwait and India.

The consultations aimed to explore new initiatives and deepen the Indian-Kuwaiti partnership. The Indian delegation, led by Mahajan, and the Kuwaiti delegation, led by Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs Samih Issa Jawhar Hayat, conducted a comprehensive review of bilateral relations. They exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern, expressing satisfaction with their strong bilateral ties. Both sides agreed to enhance cooperation in various fields, including political relations, regular high-level exchanges, trade and investment, education, technology, health, culture, and people-to-people contacts.

Earlier, the Indian delegation met with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Ziad Al-Najem. They discussed enhancing bilateral trade and investment, including diversifying the trade basket and deepening cooperation in energy and financial technology.

In another meeting, the delegation engaged with Assistant Foreign Minister for Legal Affairs Tahani Rashid Al Nasser.
