KUWAIT CITY, Dec 24: Kuwait and Japan held the fourth round of political negotiations on Monday at the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the talks, both sides agreed to establish a comprehensive partnership across various fields, which will be officially announced during an upcoming high-level visit.
The Kuwaiti delegation was led by Assistant Foreign Minister for Asia Affairs, Ambassador Samih Hayat, while Assistant Foreign Minister for Asia Affairs, Ambassador Samih Hayat, while the Japanese side was headed by Assistant Minister and Director-General of the Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau, Ambassador Ando Toshihide.
The two parties expressed their commitment to expanding the strong economic partnership between their countries, focusing on key areas such as food security, cybersecurity, renewable energy, oil, petrochemicals, health, culture, agriculture, and education. They also discussed international and regional issues of mutual concern and stressed the importance of enhancing coordination and consultation between their ministries to strengthen cooperation on the global stage.
The meeting coincided with the 63rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Kuwait and Japan. Both sides reiterated their leaders’ commitment to further enhancing the bilateral relationship and collaboration.
The talks were attended by Kuwait's Ambassador to Japan, Sami Al-Zamanan, Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister for Asia Affairs, Minister Plenipotentiary Khaled Al-Yassin, Japanese Ambassador to Kuwait, Mukai Kenichiro, and other senior officials from both countries.
