DUBAI, Oct 3: Kuwait soccer team under the guidance of Argentine coach Juan Pizzi, has adjusted its training schedule, reducing sessions to one period in the evening. This change comes after previously conducting two training sessions daily since the start of their external camp in Dubai last Monday. The team will now train exclusively in the evening at the Police Officers Club Stadium until next Tuesday, when it will travel to Muscat in preparation for its upcoming match against the Omani on Thursday in the decisive qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup finals in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Meanwhile, Kuwait Club players participated in a recovery program after joining the team yesterday, following their recent match against Al-Hussein Irbid of Jordan in the second round of the AFC Champions League 2 qualifiers, which ended in a 2-1 defeat for Kuwait Club. Yousef Nasser, Meshari Ghannam, Saud Al-Hoshan, Fahad Al-Hajri, Mohammed Daham, Sami Al-Sanea, Faisal Zayed, and Reda Hani are undergoing treatment.

The AFC Referees Committee has appointed an Australian officiating team for the upcoming match between Kuwait and Oman. Leading the match will be Iranian-born referee Alireza Faghani, along with assistants Anton Shchetinin and Ashley Beecham, and fourth official Adam Kersey. The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) duties will be handled by Catherine Jaswicz and Kearney Robinson.

Oman team coach Rashid Jaber stated that preparations for the upcoming matches against Kuwait and Jordan are progressing well, with a positive atmosphere among the players during their internal camp. He emphasized the importance of mental readiness and self-confidence as the team seeks to recover from two previous losses.

The team continues its training at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex, focusing on tactical drills, technical skills, and player positioning. Team manager Khalid Al-Rawas described their preparations as "very good," highlighting the significance of the forthcoming matches against Kuwait and Jordan. He reiterated their goal to secure victories and earn all six points, expressing confidence in the players’ abilities to deliver their best performance.
