KUWAIT CITY, Feb 13: Kuwait’s national basketball team will play two friendly matches against Saudi Arabia on February 16 and 18 at the Basketball Federation Hall in Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Complex, as part of its preparations for upcoming competitions.
Thamer Al-Shanfa, Secretary of the Basketball Federation and Head of the Training and Teams Committee confirmed that Saudi Arabia’s national team (the Green Falcons) will hold a one-week training camp in Kuwait, during which it will face the Blues in two friendly encounters.
Al-Shanfa also announced that Serbian head coach Oliver Kostic has selected 14 players for the two matches, including:
Kuwait Club: Alexander Al-Ghais, Turki Al-Shammari, Imran Jawhar, Hamad Adnan, Musaed Al-Otaibi, Yousef Al-Hamdan
Kazma: Abdulrahman Al-Sahou, Ahmed Al-Balushi
Al-Qurain: Mustafa Al-Rifai, Adel Al-Saeed
Al-Qadsiya: Saleh Yousef, Abdulaziz Al-Humaidi, Abdulmohsen Al-Moussawi
Al-Sulaibikhat: Basil Al-Muzayel
He further explained that the national team’s preparation program, approved by the Training Committee, focuses on friendly matches during international breaks and extended training camps in the summer ahead of the Asian Cup qualifiers.
Al-Shanfa expressed his satisfaction with the steady progress of the training plan, emphasizing that it will enhance the team's readiness for upcoming tournaments.
It is worth noting that the team resumed training at the Basketball Federation Hall.
