KUWAIT CITY, Nov 3: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al- Jaber Al-Sabah, with the attendance of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah received Sunday the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, both sides touched on the bilateral ties between the two friendly countries and latest regional and global developments. Acting Prime Minister, Interior Minister, and Defense Minister Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah and senior state officials attended the meeting. Earlier Sunday, Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon and his accompanying delegation arrived in Kuwait on an official visit. His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al- Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah received the president at the airport.
The Tajikistan president was also received by Acting Prime Minister, Interior Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Al-Sabah Deputy Chief of the National Guard Sheikh Faisal Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Shireeda Al-Muasherji, Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Al-Yahya and senior state officials. The president of Tajikistan is accompanied by an official delegation including the Chief of Staff of the President of Tajikistan Rahmon Azade Emomali, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirodjidin Muhriddin, Assistant to the President for International Relations Azaamsha Sharifi, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zafiqi Zafizizadeh, Minister of Finance Fayzidin Kaharzoda, Minister of Industry and New Technologies Sher Ali Kabir, Minister of Labor and Migration Gulnara Hasanzoda and several senior officials in the government.
His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah also received the Tajikistan president and his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, both sides held official talks between the two countries, where His Highness the Crown Prince headed the Kuwaiti side and the President Rahmon headed the Tajikistan side. The talks touched on the bilateral ties between the two friendly countries and the latest regional and global developments.
Acting Prime Minister, Interior Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al- Sabah, Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya and senior officials from the Tajikistan government attended the meeting. Meanwhile, the State of Kuwait and Tajikistan signed on Sunday several agreements and MoUs in the presence of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon. The two sides signed a memorandum of understanding in labor exchange in the private sector, Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya signed from the Kuwaiti side and Minister of Labor and Migration Gulnara Hasanzoda from the Tajiki side. Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Al-Yahya and Tajikistan counterpart Sirodjidin Muhriddin signed a memorandum of understanding between Soud Al-Nasser Al-Sabah Diplomatic Institute and Tajikistan Diplomatic Training Center.
Further, Kuwaiti Minister of Commerce and Industry Khalifa Abdullah Al-Ajeel Al-Askar and Tajikistan Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin signed a memorandum of understanding on Trade. Kuwaiti Minister of Commerce and Industry Khalifa Abdullah Al- Ajeel Al-Askar and Minister of Industry and New Technologies Sher Ali Kabir signed a memorandum of understanding on industrial cooperation. Kuwait Minister of Finance and State Minister for Economic and Investment Affairs Noura Al-Fassam and Tajikistan Minister of Finance Fayzidin Kaharzoda signed an amendment on agreement between the two governments for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion concerning taxes on income and capital. To conclude the visit, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on behalf of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah held a banquet in honor of Tajikistan President Rahmon and his accompanying delegation, on the occasion of his visit to the country.
