Kuwait appoints new ministers of education and oil via Amiri Decree

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 29: An Amiri Decree was issued today appointing Sayyid Jalal Sayyid Abdul Mohsen Al-Tabtabai as the Minister of Education and Tarek Suleiman Ahmed Al-Roumi as the Minister of Oil.

According to Decree No. 183 of 2024, the appointments follow a review of the Constitution and the Amiri order dated May 10, 2024 (2 Dhu al-Qi'dah 1445 AH), as well as Decree No. 73 of 2024 concerning the formation of the Cabinet and its amendments.

The Decree states:

Article One: The following individuals are appointed:

Sayyid Jalal Sayyid Abdul Mohsen Al-Tabtabai as Minister of Education.

Tarek Suleiman Ahmed Al-Roumi as Minister of Oil.

Article Two: The Prime Minister is tasked with implementing this decree, which will take effect immediately. Any conflicting provisions are annulled, and the decree will be published in the official gazette.

The Decree was issued by the Amir of Kuwait, Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and the Prime Minister, Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, at the Seif Palace on October 29, 2024 (26 Rabi' Al-Akhir 1446 AH).
