Kuwait Arrests 21 in Major Drug Bust, Seizes Over 18 kg of Narcotics

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 25: In a robust crackdown on drug trafficking and smuggling, Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior, through the Criminal Security Sector and the General Department for Combating Narcotics, arrested 21 individuals involved in 17 drug-related cases. The operations resulted in the seizure of a substantial quantity of narcotics and psychotropic substances.

Authorities confiscated 6.213 kg of hashish, 8.16 kg of marijuana, 3.11 kg of crystal meth, 153 g of cocaine, 550 g of chemical substances, 10 g of heroin, 100 g of magic mushrooms, 20 ml of marijuana oil, 12,042 Lyrica capsules, 400 Captagon tablets, 147 psychotropic pills, 9 firearm bullets, and KD 20,825 in cash, suspected to be proceeds from drug sales.

When confronted, the accused admitted to drug possession with the intent to sell and use. All individuals, along with the seized items, have been referred to the competent authorities for legal action.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to combating drug trafficking and protecting society from this dangerous menace. Citizens and residents are urged to cooperate by reporting suspicious activities via the emergency hotline (112) or the General Department for Combating Narcotics’ dedicated line (1884141).
